Won Ton Soup

Package of won ton wrappers

1 lb ground pork
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
A few drops sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
2 green onions, finely minced
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 dashes of white pepper


Water for boiling won tons
4 1/2 - 5 cups chicken stock
Green onion, thinly sliced, as desired
A few drops sesame oil
Bok Choy chopped up (as much as you want)
Any other veggies you may want (such as carrots, celery, etc) sliced very thin

Get a big pot of water on to boil. In another pot bring the chicken stock to a boil. Add the green onion and bok choy and the sesame oil. Turn to low and let hang out while you get your won tons made.

Combine all the won ton filling ingredients in a bowl, mixing well. Lay one won ton skin in front of you. Cover the remaining won ton skins with a damp towel to keep them from drying out. Moisten all the edges of the won ton wrapper with water. Place a teaspoon of filling in the middle of the wrapper and twist to seal. The final result should resemble a money bag or drawstring purse. Make sure you don't fill them too full, or you won't be able to seal them...you'll have filling oozing out the top. When you are done you will have around 50 won tons made, but you only need half that for serving 4 people. Freeze the rest for another time.

Add the won tons to the pot of water that should be now boiling, making sure there is enough room for them to move about freely. Let the won tons boil for 5 - 8 minutes, until they rise to the top and the filling is cooked through. Remove from the pot with a slotted spoon.

Place 6 won tons in each bowl and ladle the warm broth over top. Eat and enjoy!
